Welcome Pastor Wendy

Sunday, January 10th, 2016

Pastor Maristela Freiberg, Assistant to the Bishop (Left) congratulating Pastor Wendy Abrahamson (Right) on her call to serve Our Saviour Church.

Our Saviour Church has called the Reverend Wendy Abrahamson to serve as our pastor beginning January 18, 2016.

” I like to be part of a setting in love with God and hungry for

spiritual  renewal.  A setting … open to the work of the Holy Spirit…

where there is respect, love and acceptance of all generations…”

Pastor Wendy brings over 15 years of parish experience. She is one of only two pastors in the New Jersey Synod to hold a certificate in Spiritual Direction.   She serves in a local soup kitchen, and in 2015 received the highest award for her service as Treasurer and on the Board of Directors of ARC, an organization serving the intellectually and developmentally disabled.  She is passionate about social justice issues and works to serve those in need.

“I believe in God’s redeeming love for all, that we are all beloved

children of God and no one should live in oppressed circumstances…”

Pastor is active in the Community and the interfaith council.  She participates in invocations, Memorial Day services, local Thanksgiving and Christmas services, Scout award presentations and other community events.  You will find her at local diners and in local shops, and even at the school play when member children are participating.

Our Saviour is excited to partner with Pastor Wendy.  We look forward to Labyrinth walks, short term focus studies and various opportunities for prayer and Bible study together. She brings the opportunity to expand our TLC (Teaching, Learning, Caring) Ministry through her experiences in facilitating multi-generational mentoring,  intergenerational discussions and faith dialogues across generations.  Pastor will be helping us to support and expand our current ministries (see list under Ministries) that serve the community and our members by sharing our resources and our concern for God’s people and His creation.

We invite you to join us at worship on January 24, 2016 at 10:30AM  as we welcome Pastor Wendy to our church family and community.  Due to the state of emergency, services are canceled on January 24 to ensure God’s family remains safe.  We will celebrate the call of Pastor Wendy on January 31.
